Learn Our Ways…

The year was 2008. The location: Hendersonville, North Carolina. Monique and Dan Ruiz had recently moved into the area from South Florida and wondered, “Where are the good subs at in this town?” While there were a few options around, nothing came even close to their favorite subs from back home: LaSpada’s Hoagies in Fort Lauderdale. So the idea of opening a similar joint came to fruition. Phone calls were made, commercial spaces visited, LOTS of research was done. After everything, Monte’s Sub Shop was born… opening on August 5, 2008 in a small red brick building on Asheville Highway near Mountain Home. The rest, as they say, is history….
